Neuroscience with NeuroRobots for kids
Neuro Ninjas!
Tom is bored in class and makes a paper airplane… Should he throw it? Will he? What’s happening inside Tom’s brain?
At Neuro Ninjas we use a cutting-edge NeuroRobot prototype (SpikerBot by Backyard Brains) that allows our kids to work on a connected iPad or computer to create and edit its brain! We add and connect neurons with different properties into functional neural networks and make SpikerBot display behaviors similar to us.
We learn about how fear, wanting and self-control work together when you make decisions. We make neurons with colorful foam, and brains with playdough and resin to bring home. We color and play games while learning neuroscience. We solve challenges designing functional neural circuits, while developing abstract thinking and analytical skills. We learn from each other and grow.
This is a hands-on unique opportunity for your child to get a mechanistic understanding of how our brain works, and why it is sometimes hard to make a choice.
Get to know your own brain and become a Neuro Ninja!
